To fully appreciate today’s comic, you may wish to go back and carefully examine last week’s page.
But! Before you do that, while I’ve got you here, I’d like to give you a heads up and update on the Salton Sea project I wrote about a few days ago. It is an opportunity to point an amazingly skillful camera and a discerning pen at one of the most obscure and unreachable wonders of North America. They have four day’s left to fund their kickstarter project, $190 to go, and the photographic prints they are offering as rewards for contributing are bound to be absolutely wonderful. Totally worth every penny.
I am friend with Phil Rose and Allison Drennan, who are the documentarians that we’ll be sending to the Salton Sea. But the reason I’m pushing this project is because the Salton Sea is an amazing place and I’d like to learn more about it by having a couple of consummate artists go there and live it. They’ve done this kind of thing before with other American deserts as well as Detroit, and the results were nothing short of excellent.
Please, if you appreciate excellent landscape and wildlife photography or good worthwhile writing, consider contributing to this campaign!
OK, thank you. Back to a little bit about today’s comic.
As I noted on Facebook last week, I’d made a little artistic error in last week’s page. But, I managed to do it in such a way as to appear entirely intentional. It’s subtle enough that the artist himself missed it, but if anybody were living with the comic as a book for any length of time they might wonder what was going on. Furthermore, it really doesn’t hurt to add injury to insult during the climax of the book (which also happens to be part of the the preceding incident of the graphic novel). So, I threw in today’s page, once more extending the length of the comic with wanton disregard for cost or even page numbers!
