If, at this very moment, you asked Sally who was being hurt most by Carl’s behavior, she would say that Carl is. She might even say that she’s just concerned about how much he’s embarrassing himself. Someone’s got to look out for him! Because clearly, he has no idea!
You might also be speculating about what is happening to Carl’s shirts. Which might be a fun game. I suppose there might be a theory or two out there right now. Let me add one to the mix that you might not be suspecting: A little gnome, hired by Jonathan the ‘Hamster, rushes out between every scene and retrieves Carl’s current shirt and replaces it with a new one. The old shirt is then examined to see if it might have marketing potential. And if it does, it is then put online for sale! Like this:
Proceeds from that shirt will go toward the purchase of new pens for needy cartoonists.
